Tim was the managing editor of Taproot Edmonton from November 2023 to December 2025. He has worked with words and stories for more than 20 years, sometimes as a reporter, sometimes as a magazine writer, sometimes as an editor, sometimes as a documentary writer, sometimes as a book ghostwriter. Tim completed journalism school at Carleton and earned a master's degree from Trent, both in Ontario, where he's originally from.

Edmonton votes 2025: What we know so far

What Taproot knows about Edmonton's 2025 election so far is that voter turnout was just more than 30%, the lowest since 2007, that some voters waited until after 10pm to cast their ballots, and that as of 1:20am on Oct. 21, about 50,000 votes had come through.
