Food tours invite discovery on the go

Edmonton is positively crawling with food tours right now. Want some art with that shake? Linda Hoang is hosting food-and-mural tours for the Edmonton Mural Festival on Aug. 19 in Old Strathcona, on Aug. 30 along 124 Street NW, and on Sept. 3 downtown. The Aug. 19 event begins at SouthBARK on Whyte at 6pm, with stops at Remedy Cafe, Yelo'd, and Flipside BBQ on the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival grounds, Hoang told Taproot. The tour, which lasts two-and-a-half hours, includes information about previously painted murals and the chance to see new ones in progress.

West Block Food Crawl in Glenora is sold out on Aug. 19 and Sept. 16. But fear not, tickets are still available for Sept. 23 as of this writing. Foodies can find five stops, including the Latin flavours of El Corazón, oven-fired pizzas by Leopard, beverages served up at Glenora Fine Wines and Spirits, modern mezze from Zula Kitchen | Wine Bar, and treats from Square 1 Coffee.

But wait, there's more! On Aug. 26, there's a Burger Crawl. The Chinatown Transformation Collaborative offers a number of experiences in its Dragon Food Tours throughout the summer. And for those who like to roll, Food Bike Tours and YEG Scoot both have food tours that include active transportation.
