Events Roundup
July 16, 2026
This week, we're highlighting an event pick by Taproot reporter Colin Gallant. Colin recommends Neon Skies Festival, Edmonton's newest pop festival that offers two nights of summer energy.
Neon Skies Festival
📅 July 17 to July 18
📍 Fan Park
For the loud ones, the proud ones, the pop girls, the chosen family, and everyone ready to make this summer feel like a movie.
Here's what Colin had to say:
"I have been a Kesha fan forever because I relate to a party girl with a raunchy sense of humour. That would have been enough for me, but there's also Slayyyter — her spiritual successor for Gen Z audiences — who put out one of the best albums of the year so far and followed it with an exceptional Coachella performance. That combo makes the July 18 date the live music event of the year for me — and I just saw Angine de Poitrine last week!"
